Who you are booking with: Komodo Sailing Trip is a curated liveaboard marketplace operated by Timur Adventour Indonesia (a registered company; NIB and NPWP available on request). Whichever boat you choose, Timur Adventour is your point of contract, payment, and support. Booking payments are made to the Timur Adventour company account.
Rates and age policy: Infants under 2 sail free of charge. Children aged 2 to 5 pay half the published per-person rate. Guests aged 6 and above are charged the full rate.
Guest documents: Each guest must provide a valid ID or passport before departure, for the passenger manifest and port clearance.
Insurance: The boat operation carries passenger accident insurance as a baseline. We strongly recommend, and for private charters and remote routes require, that each guest holds personal travel insurance covering their planned activities (including surfing and diving) and emergency medical evacuation and repatriation.
Safety and the captain's authority: Every vessel carries a current safety certificate; a boat cannot depart with an expired one. The captain holds final authority over routing, anchorage, and timing for safety. If conditions make a location unsafe, the captain may adjust the order of the route or substitute a nearby location. Such safety decisions are not treated as a guest cancellation.
Guest activities: Activities such as surfing, diving, and swimming are undertaken at the guest's own risk, which is why personal travel insurance is required for these. Damage to or loss of personal or rented equipment is the responsibility of the guest.
Weather, force majeure, and government order: If a departure is prohibited by the harbour master or a government authority, or made impossible by natural disaster, political instability, or other events beyond our control, guests may reschedule at no penalty or receive a full refund of all amounts paid.
Cancellation by the operator: If we must cancel a departure for unavoidable operational reasons (such as a sudden technical failure), we will arrange a replacement vessel of equivalent class and price range. If no suitable replacement is available, guests receive a full refund of all amounts paid.
Changes: All cancellation, reschedule, or change requests must be made in writing (WhatsApp or email) and are effective only once confirmed by us.
Deposit and payment: A 30% deposit confirms your booking. An invoice is issued once the deposit is received. The balance is due no later than 7 days before departure. If the balance is not received by then, we may treat the booking as cancelled and the deposit is forfeited.
Reschedule: Rescheduling is permitted up to 30 days before departure, subject to availability. Requests made within 30 days of departure result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Cancellation by guest: No refund is issued. The booking may be transferred to a substitute guest at no extra cost, provided the transfer is communicated in writing before departure.
Fuel supplement (specific vessels only): A fuel supplement applies only to specific vessels, and only where marine fuel exceeds the threshold set for that boat. Where a supplement applies, it is shown on that boat's page and in your quote before you pay, and it is capped at IDR 200,000 per guest per day. Bookings already paid in full are not subject to a later fuel supplement; the price you have paid is locked.
Deposit and payment: A 50% deposit confirms your charter. An invoice is issued from Timur Adventour once the deposit is received. The balance is due before departure, as set out in your charter documents.
All-in pricing: Your quoted charter rate is all-in for the agreed itinerary. Once your charter is confirmed, no fuel supplement applies. Any cost outside the rate, such as an unscheduled port requested for your own needs, is agreed with you in advance and charged at cost with receipts.
Charter agreement: Each private charter is governed by a specific Charter Agreement issued for your trip, which sets out the itinerary, inclusions, responsibilities, and its own cancellation and reschedule terms. Where that agreement differs from these general terms, the agreement prevails.
Cancellation and reschedule: Because a private charter reserves an entire vessel and its crew, deposits secure real commitments and reschedules are subject to availability. Operator, weather, and authority cancellations are handled under the General Terms above (reschedule or full refund).
Custom expeditions beyond the standard Komodo routes, for example toward Sumba, Savu, or other remote waters, and trips built around surfing, diving, or film production, are arranged individually and governed by a separate written Expedition Charter Agreement issued for each trip.
That agreement takes precedence over these Terms where they differ, and covers matters specific to expeditions, including inter-island sailing clearance (SPB), route and weather contingencies, refund terms tied to clearance, and manifest and insurance requirements. Contact us for a bespoke quote and the applicable agreement.
